Panasonic’s cute as a button Evolta robot set a new world record last year for travelling 23.726km at LeMans, France. Now the company has a new robot mascot called Eboruta. Eboruta was designed by Tomotaka Takahashi and will try to set a new world record of it’s own by covering the 500km between Tokyo ( Nihonbashi ) and Kyoto ( Sanzyou Oohashi )

Kawada Industries and Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) have updated their 10-year-old line of HRP humanoid robots with an athletic model that they hope to develop into a soulless job-stealing worker. The blue and white humanoid is called HRP-4 and stands 1.51 meters (5 ft) tall and has the body of an athlete. The bot’s 34 joints are more flexible than that of it’s predecessors

More Robots Taught To Deceive By Georgia Tech Engineers

We already knew that lying robots were a bad idea. But now engineers from the Georgia Institute of Technology have constructed a bot that actively lies, cheats, hides and steals to accomplish its goals. The scientists “developed algorithms that allow a robot to determine whether it should deceive a human or other intelligent machines,” while also developing “techniques that help the robot select the best deceptive strategy to reduce its chance of being discovered.” For instance, if it is being pursued by an enemy, the running-robot recognizes the threatening situation, sends false signals and forges a trail in one direction before doubling back to hide
