November 30, 2009 by technabob · Leave a Comment

Leiji Matsumoto is known in many circles as one of the founding fathers of anime and manga, creating science fiction classics like emSpace Battleship Yamoto/em and emGalaxy Express 999/em. Now his unique futuristic style has found a home in an unlikely host #8211; this dramatic watch.

The bold and badass Leiji Meter watch from Japan#8217;s Seahope#8230;

aldaraan like you’ve never seen it before [star wars mmo]

For most of us, Alderaan is just that place that is so tragically destroyed in the first emStar Wars/em movie#8211;you know, the one that inspires ol#8217; Ben Kenobi to start talking about those millions of voices what were suddenly emsilenced/em. But thanks to BioWare and their emStar Wars: The Old Republic/em, we#8217;re getting a new look#8230;

cube works rubik’s cube portraits: geeky and classy

November 30, 2009 by Syndicated · Leave a Comment

Before I go on, let#8217;s get it out of the way. Yes, Rubik#8217;s Cube art is nothing new, and in all likelihood Nick Hall and the rest of the Cube Works team are following on the footsteps of earlier Rubik#8217;s Cubists. But that doesn#8217;t make Cube Works#8217; pieces any less beautiful.

mario through time, in convenient (and sorta ironic) clock form

So many Marios, and so little time#8230; or all the time in the world. Really, it#8217;s a kind of point-of-view issue here. Are you a half-full kinda person? Then you#8217;re looking at all the Marios and all the time. Way to be positive. Go you.

But before you really start patting yourself on the back,#8230;

chocolate sweet magnet: robot snack or choking hazard?

November 30, 2009 by Syndicated · Leave a Comment

The cleverly designed Chocolate Sweet Magnet lets you break the whole bar into smaller pieces, so you can share it as you would a real chocolate bar. Just let the kids know that it#8217;s made of wax and metal and not cocoa and milk.

You can get the Chocolate Sweet Magnet at MollaSpace for $18#8230;

watch shoots high-def video (not really)

November 29, 2009 by technabob · Leave a Comment

While a number of wristwatches have been released with tiny video cameras in them, this is the first one I#8217;ve heard of that#8217;s supposed to capture high-definition footage. And I emphasize #8211; emsupposed to/em.

JTT#8217;s WACAHD8GB wristwatch looks like an ordinary analog sports watch, but hiding beneath its inconspicuous cover is a digital camera, spec#8217;d#8230;

dj mouse: click, scratch, mix

November 29, 2009 by Syndicated · Leave a Comment

The DJ Mouse is a nice gadget for budding DJs to mess with. The left- and right-click buttons double as loop play/hold controls, while the scroll wheel fast forwards or rewinds. The built-in jog dial takes care of the wiki-wiki. Can your fancy schmancy Magic Mouse do that? Plus, it#8217;s made of #8220;serious materials such#8230;

lego brick light is too big for minifigs but a tad small for humans

November 29, 2009 by Syndicated · Leave a Comment

When I first saw the Lego Brick Light I thought it was an awesome way of adding working headlamps to Lego vehicles. Although Red Save didn#8217;t post the measurements of the lamp, it did say that the lamp runs on three AAA batteries. Hmmm.

So then I thought maybe it#8217;s a big slab with 4#8230;

arcade expressionism: no pixels, just paint

These simple expressionist works by artist/illustrator Brock Davis (aka #8220;Laser Bread#8221;) are my new favorite video game paintings. And they don#8217;t even have any pixels in them!

These whimsical acrylic on paper creations are part of Laser Bread#8217;s 2009 mission to #8220;Make Something Cool Every Day.#8221;

While it was the emDonkey Kong/em painting that initially caught#8230;
