domo-kun mod makes a toothy 360
December 29, 2008 by Syndicated · Leave a Comment
I’m happy to report that Domo-kun is adorable anywhere… even on the hulking side of an Xbox 360. In fact, the strange creature himself brings a beautiful color scheme to the console, and the result is a chocolaty confection of cuteness that suits the 360 very well.
DeviantARTist Ricepuppet slicked up this Xbox 360, he says, as a gift for his sister-in-law…

Are you a biochemist who works for a certain pharmaceutical company that for the past 12 years has been making viruses that turn people into zombies? If so, then you’ve probably received an Umbrella Corporation umbrella, maybe for Christmas, or when you were hired. The rest of us have to buy it. And then we’ll be turned into zombies. Some people have all the luck…
jingle ping: 49 microwaves play jingle bells

I know it’s a bit late, but I’m sure everyone’s still up for a bit of Christmas fun, and I swear this one’s worth watching.
Creative marketing company AKQA set up 49 microwaves to play Jingle Bells, one note per microwave. They sound a bit silly at the start, but… just watch it. Then hug your microwave…
lightsaber nunchucks: *facepalm*

I can see how this could be fun, but if you show this to a Star Wars geek he’ll probably shake his head, gather his robes and walk away. Some guy who looks like a mugger took 2 glow sticks, put them together with a link chain and voila! Lightsaber nunchucks. Or maybe he just stole it from a Jedi. I’m kidding. Good job Muggerman…
the light bulb gets flat

Who says light bulbs need to be round? Despite what Copernicus might have taught us, flat is the new round.
Korean designer Joonhuyn Kim has reinvented the classic incandescent light bulb by putting it into a flat glass enclosure.
Kim claims the new bulbs take up just 1/3rd of the space of a conventional bulb, making them easier to pack and ship…

When connected to a computer (via USB) the golf mouse “glows with colorful lights”. Oh you Japanese…

build your own robot arm!

Red5’s aptly named Robot Arm helps budding Dr. Wilys work on their assembling skills. £30 (appx. $44.23 USD) gets you a kit which you have to put together to form the arm, but I don’t think it’ll require Junkyard Wars-like skills; you don’t have to solder anything to put this one together…
