Want to send a message to the driver that’s been glued to your bumper for the last 5 miles? Just hang this light-up hand on your car’s back window, and you can express your true feelings without getting physical.
Available from Perpetual Kid, the remote-controlled electroluminescent sign ($40) can be set to display a multitude of digit combinations…
altered electric skateboards for real speed demons

Back when I was a kid, I tried to get on a skateboard a couple of times. But just about every time I did, I couldn’t manage to build up enough momentum to ride for more than a few seconds without wiping out. Up until now, there was no other choice for me but to pick up a video game controller and live vicariously through Tony Hawk…
x-ray lighting fixtures won’t expose you to radiation

Usually when I think about X-rays, it conjures up images of sitting on a table in an ill-fitting hospital gown with a weighty lead apron draped over some part of my body. Fortunately, these X-ray lamps require not so much as a visit to the doctor’s office.
Designer Wonsuk Cho created these pendant lamps using actual X-rays of incandescent and compact fluorescent light bulbs…
race car usb memory card reader has flat tires

Most of the USB memory card readers I come across are rather pedestrian. Conversely, this one is rather automotive.
ElectroJoe’s Motor Maniac is a 16-in-1 memory card reader that looks like a (slightly deformed) little red race car. Now it’s anyone’s guess why the wheels are sticking out at a weird angle, but you still get the point that it’s a vehicle…
welder k24: a manly watch for manly men

Being such a tech geek, I have a tendency to gravitate towards digital watches. But every once in a while I’ll stumble onto an analog that catches my eye.
Designed by Italo Fontana, the Welder K24 is about as macho looking a watch as you’ll find. This chunky timepiece won’t win any awards for subtlety. This is no wimpy little wristwatch. No sirree, Bob!..

Why is it that Japan gets all the coolest toys? I mean really, why can’t I walk into the neighborhood store and pick up one of these?
Coming this December from Bandai Japan, this remote-controlled Mechagodzilla robot is truly a sight to behold…
diy group tetris costume will earn you lots of candy

I was looking around for an interesting Halloween costume when I came across this awesome 5-person Tetris costume!
The great thing about this costume is that unlike some other group costumes, you would be very recognizable apart or together. The bad thing is that it looks insanely uncomfortable and awkward to haul around all those cardboard boxes…
star wars bowling balls for that perfect 300 game, dude.

The Force is sure to help your game with these bowling balls featuring the likeness of iconic Star Wars characters.
Whether you’re Jedi or Sith, there’s a ball for you. While I think it would be fun to show up to league with Darth Vader bowling bag, you might prefer the grimacing visage of Jedi Master Yoda…
mini e: your chance to test drive the electric mini cooper
October 18, 2008 by technabob · Leave a Comment
MINI today announced that they’ll be giving up to 500 test drivers the opportunity to test drive the new no-carbon footprint electric MINI E before it’s released.
The diminutive 3-door MINI E is powered by a 100% electric motor (hybrids are for wusses), and still manages to go from 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) in about 8.5 seconds…
pac-man quilt with moving pieces

While this isn’t the first Pac-Man quilt we’ve ever seen, I would argue it’s the best. Why? Because the Pac-Man and ghost pieces are movable, so you can play with them on the quilty game board!
The blue parts are appliqued on with yellow buttons sewn on for the dots. The characters are hand-sewn for maximum cuteness!
Crafter Curegreed made this as a treat for her boyfriend…
